Website delivery and security
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Access involves processing necessary connection data, including your IP address, request time, requested file and information sent by your browser, to deliver pages and detect and prevent errors and attacks.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in providing this academic website securely and reliably. Without the necessary technical data, the website cannot be delivered.
Hosting data recipients include Netlify and its subprocessors. Processing may take place in the United States and other countries outside the EU. Netlify’s Data Processing Agreement describes processing arrangements and transfer mechanisms: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where it does not apply, EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Further details are available in the Netlify Trust Center.
Technical data retention depends on operational, security and legal needs; no uniform fixed deletion period is promised here. Netlify explains its retention criteria in its Privacy Statement. I do not keep additional visitor logs of my own.
Cookies, fonts and external content
The website code I provide sets no cookies and uses no analytics or marketing services. Fonts, the portrait and cover images are served together with the website by the hosting provider. No external videos, maps, social media feeds or contact forms are embedded. Language switching uses ordinary links and does not save a preference in your browser.
Links to publishers, full texts and research projects lead to external websites. You access those websites only when you follow the links; the respective providers’ privacy notices then apply.
Email contact
If you email me, your sender address, message and any other information you send are processed to handle your enquiry. The professional email address uses TU Dresden’s email infrastructure. Further information is provided by TU Dresden.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (the legitimate interest in responding to academic and other enquiries), or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a contract. Data are deleted once the enquiry is resolved and further retention is no longer needed for the matter or required by law.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please contact the email address above.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. In Saxony, this is the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
This website does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
